Anyway, simplicity "flourished" when I thought of the new Cuttlebug folder I just purchased. So my flourishes are actually embossed, not stamped! I think it may possibly be the fastest card I've ever made...and I am already picturing more in my head! Happy birthday, new baby, etc. I can't wait to see how others use this folder...do you think you can put an image in the box, or only a sentiment?? I'll have to try it out...what do you think?
The wedding one is colored with a spica pen, so it's sparkly irl! I went with the platinum bands on that one... :)
I'm also using this card for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge. I've never played their challenge before, but as soon as I saw that pillow...it gave me the idea for my husband's card! He has this ratty pair of plaid shorts that he LOVES. Obviously, not my favorite. He's lost some weight recently, and they fall off now...so he's taken to belting them...a beautiful look, I must say. NOT!
Anyway, I photocopied his shorts for the card!! It may not be the most artistic card ever, but it's TOTALLY HIM and he'll totally love it and that's all that matters!
Have a great weekend...to you and all of the one-of-a-kind fathers in your life!
Your one layer cards turned out fab! Love that they were born from the flourish card! :) Really loving the platinum bands-very cool!!
ReplyDeletethose are GREAT! Okay, I'll say CAS instead of quick for all future cards- promise. I totally understand how you ended up with a two layer card, the other week I went through 5 attempts before I got one that would work for Susan's challenge.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us in this week's CAS-tastic Wednesday Clean And Simple 'Father's Day' card challenge!
I always look at that embossing folder and wonder if I should buy it, but it looks sooo elegant on your card that you may have just talked me into it. Great cards!
ReplyDeleteThat's got to be the most creative way to make special, meaningful patterned paper! And it is so awesome looking. I had to look, then look again, and then I thought you were going to say you cut up his favorite shorts, even though they might be too big! Nice card!
ReplyDeleteI like your others too!
love your OLCs, especially the one with the sparkly rings & embossed flourish...it turned out gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow! You're on quite a roll! The Peace Joy Love card would be a great mass-production card for Christmas, don't you think? Quick, easy, and oh so beautiful! They all are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWell, the Father's Day card is fun and dude-ish, not beautiful. But you know what I mean....
ReplyDeleteThe embossed cards are AWESOME!!! What embossing template is that? I'm sure I "need" it!!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used that embossing folder....and your "plaid" card is great!!
ReplyDeleteOh that folder is Gracie's Label and it calls to me everytime I see it. I guess that means I have to buy it. What you did with it is so elegant!
ReplyDeleteLove your husband's card. You are soooooo clever. Like Karen, I thought you were going to say you cut a piece from them to make the card.....you'd be in SUCH deep trouble. Seems like every guy has an ugly totem he can't part with. My husband's is a pair of cargo shorts that make him walk like a kid with a full diaper.
OMG - love love love the wedding card - and I have that cuttlebug folder - and I have a wedding coming up!!! It is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteFab cards, great idea with hubby's shorts to make a totally unique card! LOVE that embossing folder, it's now on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteLove how you photocopied your hubby's shorts! That's awesome! And your card turned out just perfect!
ReplyDeleteHey Shannon! What a fun approach to this week's Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World! Thanks so much for playing along! :)
ReplyDeleteI think that whatever you put in this flourish would be beautiful. I'll have to look for one of those folders.....
